Oshawa City Council has approved a Street Naming Policy in the Memory and Honour of the City’s War Dead and War Veterans. The names of Oshawa war dead and war veterans have been successfully used in the naming of new streets in new subdivisions.
In order to continue to honour war veterans through the street naming program we require assistance from the public to ensure that we continue to maintain a list of names that can be honoured. This form has been created to assist the public to suggest veteran’s names for inclusion on the City’s Street Name Reserve List by requesting information on the veteran as required by the City’s Street Naming Policy in the Memory and Honour of the War Dead and War Veterans.
For more information on the process for adding names to the City’s Street Name Reserve List see the City’s Street Naming Policy in the Memory and Honour of the War Dead and War Veterans.
Streets named after the war dead and war veterans have street signs that include a poppy motif.
