The City of Oshawa is accepting applications to build our network of entertainers, for special event performers, on-street buskers, and strolling entertainment. A selection of the City’s community events are enhanced through quality, family-friendly entertainment – which may include entertainment, beyond a stage.
Applications will be accepted for potential opportunities within City of Oshawa events, which may include Peony Festival (June), Canada Day (July), Events in the Park (Summer), Kars on King (August), Bright & Merry Market (November) or Oshawa Celebrates (December).
Event and Street Performer Applications to include:
- Performer contact information.
- A performer biography, including a review of the entertainment provided (i.e.: Strolling street mime).
- Link to a recorded live performance on an accessible platform such as YouTube, Facebook or public websites. Please note we will not accept performances that are on Spotify, Prime, or on other paid services.
Incomplete submissions (example: no live performance link included, no contact information, etc.) will not be considered.
Event and Street Performer Selection
The City of Oshawa selects performers for a variety of family-friendly events, with audience attendance ranging from 250 to 2,000 people. These events feature a diverse selection of entertainment, including musical artists, groups, face-painters, magicians/illusionists, and on-street entertainers showcasing various characters, abilities, acts, and performances. This allows City Events to provide enjoyable entertainment for audiences of all ages, from the young to the young at heart.
